FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why does it take 6 years to complete learning the entire Bhagavad Gita?
Great question! The Bhagavad Gita comprises of 18 chapters with a total 700 shlokas. Over a period of time, we have learnt that learning 4 shlokas per class works beautifully. With each child to getting to repeat and get comfortable with not just the correct way to chant but also understanding the subtle chanting nuances. One class per week also gives them enough time to comfortably practice and submit their homework effortlessly and chant confidently. This amounts to 120 shlokas per year.
Also keep in mind, the classes mirror the school calendar and are scheduled for August - May and include all vacations that the school calendar offers. This makes sure that kids don't forego classes due to their schedules and vacation time.
I have already attended classes for "x" number of chapters. Will it still take 6 years for me to complete?
No. While learning the entire Bhagavad Gita from Start to Finish takes 6 years, since you have a head start, you will finish that much earlier, based on how many chapters you have covered.
How many chapters have you covered so far?
in 2023, we have covered -
Chapter 1 - arjunaviṣādayogaḥ
Chapter 2 - sāṅkhyayogaḥ
Chapter 12 - bhaktiyogaḥ
Chapter 15 - puruṣottamayogaḥ
Chapter 16 - daivāsurasampadvibhāgayogaḥ
What if I am joining now or if I haven't attended all of the classes for chapter listed above?
This program has been designed to accommodate all start dates. The 18 chapters will be covered in a cyclic fashion. Which means
If you are starting new and haven't attended ANY classes, you will learn them all in the next 6 years.
If you have attended all the chapter classes listed above, you will learn the remaining chapters, to complete the entire Bhagavad Gita in lesser time.
If you have attended one or two chapters and not all the ones listed above, you will learn the chapters you missed when they are taught again.
I just heard about the Bhagavad Gita program. Can I still join?
Yes, most certainly. If the classes have commenced and we are mid chapter, you can join the class at the start of the next chapter and make up for any you have missed when they are taught later in the program. Just reach out at the email mentioned below and we'll let you know when the next chapter starts.
